If you ask me, it had very little to do with the payment method, but had everything to do with BL not implementing an intelligent solution against scammers.       You're saying bank transfers are not in the spirit of fair e-commerce, but here e-commerce is absolutely huge to the point that entire brick-and-mortar shopping centers go empty, and almost all of that goes through bank transfers.
