I placed an order with a seller that had their selling privileges revoked, and
I had to file a NSS for no shipment and no communication. The payment was through
Stripe. I have only made one other purchase through Stripe and didn't have
any issues. Now that I need to file for a refund, Stripe says they don't
provide refunds for its sellers and I need to go through the seller to get a
refund. The problem is, the seller isn't returning messages.

Has anyone else encountered this? What is the best way to get my money back if
the sale was through Stripe?

Thanks

Well, when Académie Française realizes that it's actually the 21st century
and not the 16th, maybe more people will be willing to learn the language.

Oh boy, if at least they were in the 16th….

It’s not as if tourists would ever want to send letters or packages when they
are visiting.  They should learn French anyway 🤷‍♂️

Could be

And “someone else is (not) doing it!” isn’t a valid excuse.

Colissimo on the other hand turned out to be completely unprofessional, they
weren't even able to communicate in English.

Colissimo International is our French most expensive shipping method (apart courriers
like DHL, UPS, Fedex...) and they're reliable.

I'm not sure what you mean about communication, but they provide a tracking
in English.

Sounds like someone got a completed NSS and now wants to do something about it.

If any problem, it's to the seller to communicate, not the one who receives
the parcel (and probably for all postal systems).

Indeed… and therefore, if a recipient contacts them, they don’t understand why
and brush them off.

He did? I hope it's a positive reply for you!

I called French Post first and they gave me a direct number to the Colissimo
Information Center, I called them 3 or 4 times but each time I was asked to speak
French - when I said I cannot, they... hung up. The tracking is indeed in English
though, you're right about that.

It is also true it is no my responsibility to contact the shipping company. That's
exactly what I've been told by the lawyer and ECC consultant, so now I am
just waiting for his move.

Thank you for your time and help

Thank you for your reply. I used IBAN because first - it was free of extra charges
and second - I have a really bad experience with Paypal, as ~15 years ago they
charged me over 500 dollars for the order I haven't made and it was extremely
difficult to get that money back.

Sincerely it's changed since 2000 or such.
Now PayPal is officially a Bank, their Buyer protection works in the vast majority
of the cases (99.99% of cases?)
Never had have any problem with us, pro or private.
