| | | Ah, I am not sure this is addressing my concern. I was simply worried about a
scenario where a buyer could place an order (taking the items out of my inventory)
and then that order and those parts would be in limbo for the time specified
for the buyer to decide to complete that order. For example, the 3 days that
were suggested here.
Do I get to see these orders before the buyer decides to pay for them? I would
have to account for these parts being 'reserved but not purchased' during
this in limbo time.

It would essentially be an order that you have not picked yet. If you have more
than one order to pick now, then your inventory is essentially "wrong"
when picking the first order if you check what is left and both buyers have ordered
the same part.
Parts would be in limbo, in the sense of they are ordered and not yet picked
but that order might not go through if the buyer decides that they don't
accept your fees. You would of course have to see the order so that you can enter
the postage costs and the order total.
If the buyer doesn't pay, then the parts would return to the store like any
cancelled order. Of course, there would be a lot of work if you physically pick
the order to determine the postage costs as you would also need to physically
return all the parts. But how many sellers really need to pick an order to determine
the postage costs these days?
If a buyer abuses it and keeps ordering without actually going through with an
order to purposely tie up your stock, then there is the option to stoplist them.
Of course, if possible it is much more preferable to the buyer (and seller) to
use instant checkout with prices shown before the order is placed.
