Oh, I agree completely that hidden or crazy fees are a big problem for buyers! I was never defending that practice. Any store that doesn't have fees clearly communicated and very visible in their terms is not very good in my opinion. I was only concerned about the logistics of the suggestion that buyers can place a non-binding order. It really affects the store inventory. It could also encourage buyers to 'comparison shop' by placing multiple orders for the same items and then later deciding which to actually purchase. I think our Quote system is the best compromise if it actually worked properly! It should be a clear and obvious choice right from the start of checkout that it's an option to get the full total without committing to a purchase. It should also generate a big noticeable notification for sellers so they have a chance to process them right away and reduce the risk to the buyer that the stock moves before a decision is made. And, it should be on by default for every store not completely using IC. Thanks! ~Jen
