| Hello!
im a new seller and I need some help with the shipping. Recently, I switched
over to flat rate shipping for items and I got a customer who says their items
are too expensive to send over, so what do I do to make sure the flat rate shipping
is the correct price for the buyer? or if there is an option, to bill the shipping
later after boxing it and knowing what kind of mailer it will be sent in to price
accordingly?

Is it possible your PayPal setup is not connected to your merchant account? If
it isn't, then you need to connect it. If it is, it might be worth trying
to disconnect and re-connect.

different to yours. I've only got 3 options, Weight Band Price Band & Flat
Rate, I can't do what you've done.
Why have Bricklink messed things up so much?

The other options are only for USA sellers.
My manual invoice option is like this:
PD: Onsite paypal is just the payment method used to pay, it can be used on both
Instant Checkout orders and on Manual Invoice orders.

has the USA selected. As to why they can’t checkout it looks like you only have
PayPal as an option instead of PayPal onsite. PayPal onsite is required for sales
tax collection so buyers from most USA states won’t be able to order unless you
add PayPal onsite as a payment option

Depending on whom is generating your postage, you may be able to detect these
prior to buying the postage. An address that is incomplete, or dubious, may not
be able to generate a full 9-digit Zip+4. If you see a proposed address (on Pirate
Ship) that does not generate a full Zip+4, then it may be to your benefit to
halt processing the order, and reach out to the customer questioning the supplied
address.
I am aware (from personal experience), that in a few limited situations, an address
that USPS was good with (say 10 years ago), they no longer feel is specifically
correct, and may randomly reject mail sent to that previously correct address.
In your situation, the ability to do this has already passed. Good luck !

this happened to me, it actually showed up and I emailed the buyer to tell them
they didn;t have the correct address, did they want to pay the shipping again
and i would reship? They agreed and I re-invoiced them for just the shipping
, shipped it again. Your other option is to refund the order minus the shipping
charge once you receive it back.

| The buyer might be able to stop the return if he goes to his post office ASAP
and tells them what happened, if not yes he needs to pay for shipping again.
The issue with that is that Bricklink has no way of billing for that. So, not
sure how Bricklink wants that handled.

For seller protection, what matters is the address that appears on the PayPal
transaction record, i.e. the one used at the time the buyer paid.

Absolutely yes. (Whose fault is it here?)
I would prefer the communications happen via BL's message system for my seller
protection.
All these depend on the value of order. Is it $600 or $100? It would change a
lot it I was the seller.
If I create the label with my business account of CanadaPost, I may be able to
call them and ask them to redeliver it with the # Apt. on top of it.

That's for total, yes. So if you set it for 40 inches you can have any combination
of dimensions less than 40 fit in that shipping method. Since Lego uses standard
sized boxes for their shipments I reuse their boxes and use Max Dimensions instead
and title the shipping method for that box size.
