  Hi,

I cancelled your post because even if you cut some bits, there was still enough
to find their website.
The rest is saved below.

As for answering your question: you may contact help desk and/or report the store.
The admins will verify.

It turns out I had ordered from the store (I think they slightly changed their
name of store). The store deliberately sent me an advertising message to my email
(that he found and picked from the order's page).

"15% extra discount on LEGO parts on Bricklink"

15% extra discount

The sender's email address is

Is this email coming from this store?
[redacted]

If so, how did they obtain my email address?! I never messaged them or bought
from them.

Shall I report this store?

Hi everyone, been selling on bricklink now for a few years and came across this
today. This person who purchased from me is new to bricklink and I guess did
not put there apartment number on their address under their Paypal account when
completing the transaction. The package was supposed to be delivered today but
being sent back to me now for an incorrect address. The buyer is asking me If
I can re-send the order when I get the package back with their apartment number
added to the address. I would think the buyer has to update their address on
their end in their Paypal account right or am I wrong, IDK.

For seller protection, what matters is the address that appears on the PayPal
transaction record, i.e. the one used at the time the buyer paid.

  Also in this situation
would you charge the buyer another shipping label with a new tracking number?

Absolutely yes. (Whose fault is it here?)
I would prefer the communications happen via BL's message system for my seller
protection.

All these depend on the value of order. Is it $600 or $100? It would change a
lot it I was the seller.

If I create the label with my business account of CanadaPost, I may be able to
call them and ask them to redeliver it with the # Apt. on top of it.

Kind of of need some help on this one.

Thanks

Will

Hopefully this is the right space to ask this:

My buyer has messaged stating they haven't received their item - I have proof
of posting but no tracking info and have already submitted a missing letter claim
with Royal Mail.

I'm wondering what I should do:

1. refund the buyer and hope Royal Mail don't tell me they've already
delivered the item?;
2. wait for Royal Mail to respond which could take another few days, and my buyer
has already sent several messages as they want their items?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Is it 100% your responsibility! If he does not receive it or even if he is lying,
you should refund.

I don't know about prices of Royal mail, in Canada, I can send a letter without
tracking for just $2.35 but with tracking for $14. For small orders, I don't
charge tracking but add like $0.5 to each order. If a buyer claims he did not
receive his order, I refund, i.e. those extra $0.5 I have been charging would
be covering the cost of such missing letter.

But delays happen. I had a buyer that didn't receive it. I finally re-sent
his order (two small classic space sets that I had) but after 2.5 months, he
messaged me that the first order had just arrived! Another recent case: buyer
claimed he did not receive anything. I messaged back twice and requested him
to be patient. This is what I wrote:

May 1st
Hi XXXX,

So far, among those I sent or received (about 500), no mailer has gone lost.
It is possible the mailer is accidentally sent to a different province or post
warehouse than yours. I had one package with tracking to be delivered within
my province but sent to Ontario and then they returned it back to BC. Last year,
I sent a mailer to Quebec on about 10h Jan. and was finally received on 20th
March, about 2.5 month later, when I had already resolved.
As a buyer, if i don't mind to receive the part later, I would just wait
up to 3 months (which is indeed too long), otherwise if I need the parts earlier
I would ask a refund but if later, the mailer turns up in my mailbox, I would
return it to the seller.

I think 6 weeks is expected when a delay happens and beyond that, it is an exceptional
case.

So please let me know, what you would prefer.

I guess because of my message, I felt reassured and preferred to wait and on
May 6th, he wrote me:
Hey XXX,

Guess what? I got it today!

Cheers,

So far, all my letters without tracking are delivered (about 300-500?).

I hope this helps.

Comments from Submitter:
Your set inventory lists this set containing 2 trans-red 1x1 tiles, but the instructions show that they are 1x1 plates (you can see the stud).

The transparent version of the 1 x 1 tile was first released in Trans-Red in
1984, and this was one of the sets from that year.

The instructions were likely drawn up before the part in that color / mold was
released, and then adjusted after the fact.

The hinges holding the removable sled in place may not work without the tiles
either. You might want to build the model to make sure.

S it can be seeen in the photos, 1x1 tiles work, 1x1 plates don't.

Based on the alternate builds on the back of the box, the trans-red 1x1 tiles
should be correct:

P.S.
There is a photo of the main model from the back but it is too small.

Correct, but you can simply refund him.

The claim is opened so at the end a refund will be made,
if not by payal, then it will be by me. It's just sad that it's so difficult
to get a NSS that was not intended or is not in place, to be removed if the buyer
is not a fast responder.

If PayPal refunds the buyer it will be from your account, and you could get hit
with a dispute fee as well.

I don't know how long PayPal disputes take to resolve, but it's possible
the buyer could complete the NSS before it is resolved, and then you'll have
a permanent mark on your record, and you'll still lose money.

As far as I know, if the buyer get his full refund, seller can supply this info
to BL and they remove the NSS strike, even after the buyer completed it.

A buyer placed a NSS (Non Shipping Seller alert) on an order in my store while
there's no doubt about the fact that I shipped it. I provided the shipping
company, tracking code and informed him myself about a delivery issue and the
fact it got lost. I suggested he could open a paypal claim to get refunded. He
finally did this but also placed a NSS what could cause me a lot of damage and
could result in a closure of my store if others do this again. It's already
the second time this happened. I informed him about the consequences this could
have to me and kindly requested to remove the NSS till the paypal claim is handled.
He does not respond. I also contacted bricklink administration but just like
previous time, they probably will take no action.
What can I do to get the NSS removed and how can I wake up bricklink to avoid
incorrect placed NSS in the future? It's very stressfull to receive a NSS
let be when it's based on false accusations.

Rather than suggesting that they could open a paypal claim to get refunded, why
not just refund them. The end result is the same, and you probably wouldnt have
received the NSS warning. Now you must refund to have it removed.

You are all missing the point here. Ok, at the end the buyer will be refunded,
if not by paypal then he certainly will be by me. But what's the point of
insurance if you decide not to use it and refund it yourself? When you buy a
new car and take full insurance, including damaged caused by yourself and wreck
the car, do you buy an other one without contacting your insurance? No, you try
to get your money back from your expensive insurance first. Fact is that my buyer
is not looking for a refund from me, he just wants a refund what's absolutely
normal. He opened a paypal claim and I provived all information so that won't
be a problem. And again, if paypal decides not to refund, I will.

This sentence demonstrates on its own that you don't know how PayPal works
and what is it for.

  But how ridiculous
would it be to refund something without trying the insurance first.

Nothing is ridiculous here. You just don't know enough about insurance and
how it works and how can claim it and why it is there.

I would take this as a lesson to learn about PayPal and insurance and how they
work. You use them so it is better to learn about them before you face a serious
problem with a difficult buyer or even a scammer.

I would first contact the shipper and claim the parcel is lost to get my money
back from insurance. This is because, the shipper may try to find the package
and if they do, they will deliver it and won't give you any refund.
Hopefully this process happens within the time-frame of PayPal claim (you can
respond to PayPal claim with delay. They give you a few days to respond). If
later, the shipper accepts the parcel is lost and begin the process to issue
a refund to you, I immediately refund the buyer via PayPal. Otherwise, I provide
the info to PayPal that the parcel is found and is on its way to buyer again.

I hope this helps

  Main problem
is that the buyer is very slow in responding. It took me 3 messages and 5 weeks
to bring to his attention that there was a problem with the delivery. If I didn't
do that he would probably still not know there was a problem. As far as I can
tel from his comment in the NSS he just wanted to cancel the order, not knowing
an NSS is not the right way to do that.

Not only against Paypal terms, but it is illegal in California starting in July.

It isn't hard to simply add 3% to your store prices to cover the fee.

But sellers who tack the fee on later get the advantage in the price guide, which
I just consider to be dishonest.

Personally, I least favorite stores that do this, but I will continue to push
Bricklink to change to terms of the site to prohibit junk fees.

I particularly like this one that I came across with today:

In my store, I have no lot limit, or any other hidden fees. I only charge
$1.50 to cover handling and shipping supply costs (in addition to shipping cost)
plus 3.5% of total invoice value to cover my store's overhead cost. We will
not send missing items. We only refund their value.

Sure you can. You just add the fixed fee to your S&H costs for all transactions
and the percentage to your part prices.

This is what i do and if a buyer choose to pay via bank transfer, no fee for
me, i reduce the percentage over total.
And this is what nearly no other canadian store offer 😕

  So everyone else is wrong?

unfortunately you cant. the only way to do it is to refund the buyer and have
them pay onsite
(as bricklink collects the tax via a "partner fee" on the transaction).

Done, thank you.

How could they send you payment directly?!

I guess you use the same exact email address for your PayPal account that you
have on BL. This is the exact reason you should change your PayPal account email
address so this doesn't happen agian.

For a seller, the order is fulfilled when the buyer receives ALL items ordered.
It's the seller his obligation to make sure the buyer receives the complete
order.
If the seller fails to do so, a simple refund of the missing items is not sufficient
as the buyer needs to put time in searching a new store to purchase from AND
to pay shipping costs again.

The seller can offer:

A) The buyer returns the full order, with a full refund (including original shipping
costs AND including the return shipping costs, since it was a seller's problem).
Seems expensive for the seller, but it's the seller's fault to begin
with.

B) Refund missing items and reasonable part of the original shipping costs. Or
completely. So the buyer isn't forced to pay shipping costs at another store
from his own pocket.

C) Make sure the buyer receives the items. If you (the seller) doens't have
it in stock, you can place the order yourself at another store, and re-ship (or
just choose a dropshipping method).

I know all options will eat (part of) your profit, but it was your error to begin
with. The buyer can't be held accountable for the mistakes a seller made.
So for a seller you can only sigh, take the cost and learn to get better and
order fulfilling to spot missing items.

The solution you offered to simply refund the actual costs of the missing items,
without even reaching out to the buyer first to discuss options, is not a good
one. I usually go for option C) because I find it my obligation as a seller to
make sure I fully fulfill the order without extra work for my customer. All efforts
and costs to rectify a problem, should come from the seller.

I understand BrickLink used to have more of a "kindred spirits" without
a true enforced "buyer-seller relationship with commercial and legal obligations".
But things have evolved over time, as more and more people found their way to
BrickLink. As a result, the commercial and legal obligations become more and
more important, so it's important for sellers to be aware of these obligations
and act correctly to follow these obligations.

Lastly, I don't think it really professional to post this issue here in the
thread and mention the related user. It might even be considered a privacy violation
to do so? I think it is. But in any case, as a seller, stay professional. This
isn't really a professional action.

You might continue by stoplisting my account as well based on the fact you will
probably not like this reply. It's just how I think about this situation
and give you some other point of view you might consider.

Well said
+1

I already gave up to share my opinion with this seller. It looks like he thinks
he is 100% right and nobody should object that.

score. This is very important considering you just started selling and your record
is not yet huge, i.e. not many feedbacks.
All my first 1000 feedbacks were positive but I have initially received about
20 neutral or negative feedback. In all those cases, I contact buyers and resolved
the issue.
Did you try to contact this buyer? Do you know why he left you a neutral fb?

If they buyer did not answer you, you could still reply to his feedback something
like: "reached out to resolve if there was any issue but the buyer didn't
reply"

Thanks for stopping by!

Received a high dollar order on Feb 10th. Pulled, Packed, Invoiced, Paid, Posted
all in about 24 hours. Post office received package on Feb 11th. As it's
an international shipment, it goes through the Chicago International Distribution
Center on the evening of Feb 16th. Then it basically disappears until April 12th.
No one knows where it went, how it got there, what cruise line it detoured through,
nothing. Here's what the time interval looks like on the USPS tracking page
looks:

- Processed Through USPS Regional Facility
CHICAGO IL INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER
February 16, 2024, 7:43 pm

- Processed Through Facility
NETHERLANDS
April 12, 2024, 9:46 pm

Did they travel through the Bermuda triangle? Where did it go? I cannot express
the amount of appreciation I have for an understanding customer who paid so much
for this order, and then patiently waited almost two months for a tracking update
from USPS. TWO MONTHS! It's almost like the postal service is purposefully
trying to kill off international business opportunities. First with huge price
jumps, then with a decreased level of service that borders on apathy.

The postal service told me that after it leaves the US there's not a lot
they can do, 'it's out of our hands'. Why offer tracking at all when
it's of little use? And when I asked them about filing a case for a missing
package, they tell me that it has to be missing at least 60 days before I can
file as a missing package. Insane, absolutely insane. Going to send a Christmas
box of dog poop to Mr DeJoy... through Fedex.

I think it is sent on surface, i.e. in a ship. This is what couriers do when
they cannot send on air.
