I'm browsing parts today and all of a sudden all pieces that were always Flat Silver now are Pearl Light Grey. Those are two different colours, just like Flat Gold and Pearl Gold. If you hold two same pieces one from 2004 and one from 2008 they have clearly distinct tints to them, especially in Bionicle. And in the transition years ~2006 some sets actually had both variants making them desirable by collectors.
