Statiscally, the rate of colour blindness in males is 1 in 12. I'm one of
those who has lived with red/green colour blindness all of my life. If you believe
that you may be colorblind, and have not been tested, I recommend you do so.

The worst colors for me are:

Reddish Brown vs. Dark Red.
Azure vs. Medium Blue.
Azure vs. Lavender.
Light Orange vs. Yellow, vs. Lime.
Dark tan vs. Nougat, green, olive, etc. etc.

With a lot of practice sorting through colours, I've found I've become
better at distinguishing these shades, most of the time. I'm pretty good
with the greys vs bluish greys now. Also, these methods help:

1. Bright light. It is amazing just how low the light levels are in a average
room with normal light fixtures. A good desk lamp or other supplemental light
source is a must when sorting lego colors.

2. Daylight, or a "Day" bulb. A desk lamp with a daylight bulb really
helps.

3. Reference bricks in the difficult colors. Get some parts in the needed colors,
label them, and keep them near your work area for comparison.

Actually, one of the biggest challenges of being color blind, is that people
reflexively refuse to believe you when you tell them you can't see certain
colors. About 100% of the time, they will immediately say: "Really? What
colour is my shirt? What color is this? What color is that". It's very
strange, really, and I can't imagine people doing something like that for
any other problem, like hearing, for example.
