Not everyone here is a loremaster, Clone Trooper (Rank/Unit) would suffice, and
if there's variations in print, list that, but there's no need for the
facial expression or phase as the phases are easily distinguishable, and most
Clone faces are included in the catalog photo

I think the problem is searchability. Not everyone on BrickLink is a Star Wars
expert, but a lot of people are and they would like to be able to easily search
the catalog to find a specific minifigure. Ideally, BrickLink would have a tag
system so that all of the relevant details (rank, unit, phase, facial expression,
etc.) would be included in the tags, but BrickLink doesn't have that so we
end up with some unwieldy item names like
