I bought a box full of lego and found plenty of 2x4 bricks of recent date. All
of them have a letter on one of the studs instead of “lego”. Almost all letters
can be found on the different bricks. Anyone know what this is ?

I'm wanting to build a beer garden modeled after Viktualienmarkt's in
Munich. It will probably be on a 48x48 plate so I'll have room for at least
4-5 large "bushy" trees, but I'm struggling to find inspiration online.
Most of the the trunks I'm seeing are built from square bricks/slopes and
they just don't look right.

The Rivendell set looks like it has some really interesting ones but they need
about 8x the amount of leaves and 2x broader foliage. I know we can't post
links but are there any obvious ones in the lego realm I'm not seeing?

Honestly for trees, I build based on what I've hoarded over the years or
what I can find cheap. Foliage has always been a premium, and its one of the
few parts I don't sell very much of because I save most of them. I have a
few in my store only to have variety.

I've literally bought bulk lots just to pick out the tree parts and then
resell the rest as bulk again.

I'd get parts first then think about how to use them, personally.

Feel free to contact if you'd like more detailed images of these trees.

These look great, I think the one to the right of the red tree in the back is
what I'm going for. The (real life) trees there are Chestnut trees, so the
branches are relatively low and spread out very wide at the bottom. In LEGOese,
I think the biggest one would be 30 bricks tall (just above the roofline of Assembly
Square) and about ~24 studs in diameter.

As much as I would prefer a rounded truck I think to support that many leaves
it's going to have to have a larger more angular base. Where I'm struggling
is how to to get branches to extend 10 studs off the trunk.

Wow! Stunning recreation of the various tree species! No idea who the artist
is (art it is, imho) but they are beautiful! Such a level of impression of life
and the living
with mere LEGO, always moves me. Brings to mind, Miro's
talent with living subjects.

While being perhaps overly impressed is no doubt because it's so far beyond
my own abilities, the capacity to move others with your work, goes straight to
the innate portion of talent. The nature of the individual, as I see it.

https://ideas.lego.com/projects/af182e87-5ccf-4519-95cb-a8dcfd7ff2dc comes to
mind as a different style of tree trunk.

As far as getting a bushy tree, expect to spend a lot on leaves. Not sure there's
a way around that

You can create your list of parts with optical recognition (at least on parts
you've difficulties to find), it's very convenient!

Correct, it is 'hidden' in the 'add items' dialogue.
Anyway to have it shown on the menu bar or as a button?

I had heard of it but considering find it. Thanks for helping. Now I should be
able to add parts at twice the speeds that is if I don’t get distracted
