He has departed, my brother: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1433100

Changed his name to Rand after some years in Sweden, but was ever Randy to me.
By either name, anyone would count themselves as lucky to have been a part of
his life.

A good man, good father and a good brother. Loved ones left behind are Karin
his wonderful wife, and three great kids; Jacob, Julia and Jesper. The pic was
taken 4 months ago.

A heartfelt appreciation to those here that cared about him, expressed or not.
I have my cherished memories, and look forward to hopefully catching up with
him when my time comes

After helping his dad build a jacuzzi in his dad's beloved garden, they inaugurated
it their last project together, Randy and his youngest, Jacob. Btw, Jacob's
holding a game they played while enjoying the jacuzzi that day. They loved games,
my brother and his kids. Pic was taken 10 months before Randy's passing.

The second pic is of Randy and Jacob as a wee-one, taken at my brother's
favorite place on earth (after his garden) Morro Bay, CA. His ashes will be scattered
next month in two places: his garden and Morro Bay.

Didn't know this of my brother, that Morro Bay where he and I have had some
good times as young men, was so closely held to heart. Just leaned it. Even more
impactful, considering my brother and his youngest were avid travelers of the
world. Don't know of many places they haven't experienced. It's completely
understandable that his garden is a favorite, but learning that Morro Bay was
also, is hard hitting in a bitter sweet way.

Very thoughtful.

He changed his name sometime after moving to Sweden, to Rand. I remember talking
to him about it then, because I had a problem calling him by his newly chosen
name. He'd always be Randy to me, iow. He understood. But everyone else called
him Rand, even his kids.

He said it was after learning that "randy" had another meaning that
he didn't care to be called... Typical Randy But he was a fan of Alice
O'Connor (Ayn Rand) in college too, so I don't know. I alway thought
it was because it just sounds more serious without the "ee" sound, that
he changed it.
