I've spent a lot of time carefully cataloging parts and do not want them
merged. However, I can't complete creating the wanted list, I get invalid
file format, etc. Can someone help me? I'm an 85 year grandma selling my
grandkids Legos for college money.

How are you creating the Wanted List? Regarding the merge you would need to just
update the parts IDs.

Have you tried BrickStore?
