| Hi
A while back i ordered new window frames (for 2493c01) for my 8680 set using
the Bricklink inventory as reference. When i got them i was thinking to switch
the glass over from my discolored variants, however i found out that the windows
i had, has fixed glass in them. The window i have with the set is part 4347.
I also noticed that Rebrickable and brickset use this part in their inventory.
When looking in the instructions, the step where the windows are added does not
describe the glass being added to the frame, thus i think 4347 is the most corect
window here. However i cannot be sure that 2493c01 was never used also. Perhaps
the instruction was kept not describing to insert the glass, or perhaps there
are two versions of the instruction floating around?
I was hoping to get some input from the community before going ahead and requesting
an inventory change request since i'm not really sure what is the most corect
corse of action here.

I think both variants are correct, for first (few) year(s), it came with fixed
glass, then it came with removable glass, similar to this set
that was also from 1986 (until 1990).

Instructions only shows the first variant from 1986.
I assume for an inventory change, you need a reliable source, like a new set
as I had for set 7839.

I see what you are saying, however we always take the first inventory as fact
without question. I'm not able to provide any proof i'm afraid.
Hopefully soneone else will come trough eventually.
