flames and when checking I noticed the length between the 2 was different by
just a little so I went and got some more to confirm there was a difference indeed
and it just wasnt the one I had and was measuring and then I noticed that
(old 2.96 (with part number 6126) and new 2.99 (no part number molded on it)
as seen in the photo)
and was wondering what the best way to proceed would be as this was a somewhat
noticeable difference in size and thought to best ask

That is a difference of only 1/4 of a millimeter. That is a very small difference,
and I don't think a difference that small requires a note. All parts fluctuate
within a set range of dimensions due to the inherent variability in the manufacturing
process, so that would require notes on all parts.
