| Hello, this has been bothering me for a while now, but several of the mask packs
listed either do not exist at all, or are listed with the wrong region.
For starters, the US/non-US distinction -- having spoken with several Canadian
BIONICLE fans about these, Canada had the boxed versions as well. Additionally,
LEGO's naming scheme uses the distinguishment of "IN" and "AM",
rather than "NA" or "US", which leads me to believe that they
were available in both South and North America.
Considering that Connecticut became HQ for LEGO's activities in all of America
around 1998, this also tracks: https://www.lego.com/en-gb/history/articles/g-production-in-brazil/
Further-more, I have found no evidence of 8530, 8559, 8597, or 8600 existing
in boxed form. Just Google them, there are no photos of them - because they do
not exist.
To go through each set one-by-one:
Kanohi:
- US Catalogue: https://archive.org/details/Lego-Shop-At-Home-summer-2001-Bionicle-Cover/page/n1/mode/2up
- US Shop@Home: https://web.archive.org/web/20031203111200/http://shop.lego.com/product.asp?p=8525
