I'm not sure... but I think there is some admin trick to put those IDs as
PCC, so they are at the title until they can be put at the correct place.

Yes, there is a workaround, but it is time-intensive and adds stuff to the change
log files that we really don't want to. Adding them to the title is what
we will be doing for now to meet the request to have the numbers accessible until
a more permanent solution can be found. (Letting minifigures have an alternate
item number would be a good start. )
Cheers,
Randy

Yes, we have started doing that as a request from higher up the ladder. The goal
is to make figures that are classified as one part by the LEGO Company easier
to find since figures do not have a PCC slot. All new ones added to the catalog
will have them from now on when they are first approved, but we will probably
start adding some to older figures, also (think the one-piece microfigures, one-piece
nanofigures, older DUPLO figures, etc.).
Cheers,
Randy

Easier to find by people who were redirected to BrickLink by LEGO’s consumer
service

Hey Randy, what about the Design IDs of decorated parts/assemblies that can be
found in B&P?
Will there be a place for them in the Bricklink catalog?

We are hoping to get a separate, new field added to all catalog entries that
will exclusively hold the LEGO design number for decorated parts, assemblies,
etc., and also get additional functionality that will allow users the ability
to populate them through the standard forms. Until that happens, we will not
be adding them as there are obviously thousands upon thousands upon thousands
of them already and all work would be solely on us. So it may never happen, or
it may happen in the near future. It's anyone's guess.
Cheers,
Randy
