| I was predictably asked if is light blue.
No, it isn't. Not "Light Blue". I doubt that the person who added it to
the catalog was being very literal with matching it to a specific color called
"Light Blue"
The best match I can find on my guide is Maersk Blue, but it isn't a great
match. Can we consider changing it to N/A color and putting Shiny Light Blue
in the name of the item?

As far as color names in general, I believe that someday, color names will have
to become more defined than Light, Medium, Dark.
In the grand scheme of things, we are very fortunate that LEGO does try very
hard to be color-consistent year to year and even spanning decades. Of course,
there are production variants, whether intentional or not or simply someone at
LEGO factoring deciding "That's Close Enough, Keep Going, We'll adjust
the next batch to be better" sort of thing.
I know I have mentioned this previously, but other manufactured goods where color
is important come with specifically named colors -- from automotive paint,
to house paint, to artist's supplies, to children's crayons. (my favorite
fun vehicle color name is Chrysler/Jeep "Mango Tango")
Aside from Maersk Blue, official LEGO color names use broad categories like Sand,
Stone, Earth, and Nougat which are really not descriptive enough. Medium Stone
Gray -- what the heck is that -- I can pick up 20 stones from a pile
of rocks and have 20 different colors of medium stone gray -- so the name
is, to me, completely useless and meaningless.
If LEGO continues to produce different, distinct colors, BrickLink may need to
add specific names to colors to better define them when Light, Medium, and Dark
won't be descriptive enough. One alternative to that would be to add the
color number to the name, such as Dark Blue 63, Dark Blue 255, Dark Blue 348,
Dark Blue 492, etc.

Since fabric colors are never going to perfectly match solid plastic surface
colors, I think it would make sense to put "Shiny Light Blue" in the description
and go with NA as the color.
