I came across this part today and found it in 2 different colours

Part No: 973pb0278c01 Name: Torso Safety Vest with Reflective Stripes with Pocket and Train Logo Pattern / Blue Arms / Yellow Hands
*
973pb0278c01 (Inv) Torso Safety Vest with Reflective Stripes with Pocket and Train Logo Pattern / Blue Arms / Yellow Hands
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor. {Orange}
I looked around and couldn't find any other version of this part listed.
Its more noticeable in person than in the photo
Please let me know the best way to proceed.
Thanks!

What’s the difference between the two parts? The only difference I see is the
neck peg being printed

In-person is quite visible that the blue on the one is noticeably lighter compared
to the other one

Is it me or is the printing just a bit different? Also the left one is shinier
than I would expect. Usual dumb question is the logo on the neck?

No worries, Yup there is a logo on the one on both of them perhaps the slight
difference is due to the fact it was produced over the span of about 15 years
likely in several different factories

That’s not a dumb question at all Tracyd. That’s a very good point!

Oh, I see what you mean. Maybe it’s a misprint, or one copy of the part could
just be lightly used whereas the other is new?

It seems to not be too uncommon for printed items to have slight print variations
of the part and likely isn't a misprint. The item is in overall very good
condition combined with the fact that the lighter blue is even across the pen
and the shirt which seems to dismiss it being wear

Well, I have no idea what the reasoning behind the difference is. Perhaps it’s
just a print variation, like the original stormtrooper helmet?

Perhaps and if it's the case hopefully a note will be added to the catalogue
entry.

Print colors tend to vary even more than part colors in my experience. I would
not be concerned about the variation between these two - as long as you've
confirmed they're both Lego. I guess the one on the left is the newer of
the two?

Yeah, I'm not to worried but since it was a more noticeable variation I thought
it might be best to add a note about the colour variation similar to other one's
like this one

Yet another torso with multiple PCCs (Element Numbers). It is no surprise to
me that there would be print variations on a part that spanned a 15-year period.
One of them looks like it has white printed under the blue (thus making the blue
look lighter), while the other does not. Also telling is the lack of the neck
print on one of them. That is a sure sign that it was made in a completely different
facility than the one with the neck print.

This one will probably just get a note.

Cheers,
Randy

I have added an additional note to this torso entry as well as added your image
that shows the different variations side-by-side. I tried to slip in a note about
pizza, but I didn't think it looked right.

Cheers,
Randy

Thankyou very much! And thankyou very much for thinking about pizza!
