| These are photos of a #6954 Renegade set that I acquired secondhand. All parts
bags were (and are) still sealed. The set came with a 1987 U.S. catalog (c87us)
and had a "Hills" (defunct regional U.S. department store) price tag. The bag
with the trans-yellow 73590c01b is in the center of the photo of the parts tray.

The inventory for this set and #6941 Battrax only list the yellow (color code
"3") version of part 73590c01b Hose, Flexible 8.5L with Tabless Ends Black.
Some of these sets shipped with translucent variants of part 73590c01b, which
to my eyes, are a separate color designation, trans-yellow (color code "19").
Thus, the requests to add "Alternate" color entries for the part type. (Did
I mis-enter these request?)
The first attached photo is intended to compare the colors for these parts'
component part: 751, "Hose, Flexible 8.5L, Tube 7L". On top are 7 (opaque)
Yellow 73590c01b hoses from two of my childhood sets: #6941 Battrax and #6987
Message Intercept Base. Below those are two Trans-Yellow 73590c01a hoses from
my childhood #6882 Walking Astro Grappler. At the bottom is the sealed bag with
hoses from the #6954 Renegade set. Note how the 73590c01a hoses and the hoses
inside the bag are not bright yellow in color, compared to the top hoses and
the yellow plates in the bag.
The second photo shows a Trans-Yellow 73590c01a hose on top of the sealed #6954
bag, in order to show that the bag's hoses also have their component part
751 in Trans-Yellow.
The inventory change request for this set and #6941 Battrax were inspired by
a brief discussion in the Brickset forums, starting here: https://forum.brickset.com/discussion/comment/690213/#Comment_690213
And, for what it's worth, Rebrickable has two inventories for #6941 Battrax,
one with yellow 73590c01b hoses, and the other with trans-yellow hoses.
Additionally, a number of eBay listings for the #6941 Battrax and the #6954 Renegade
show tranlucent hoses. E.g., eBay listings for 6954 sets with translucent hoses:
284528259041 and 234174164874. E.g., eBay listings for 6941 sets with translucent
hoses: 284528250794 and 185163623649.
