Just built the set today. The long orange hose is definitely a spare since I also had it, same as Sariel's video review shows, but unlike him I didn't have the long 3L blue pins left over. Long Technic pins are never spares and show he forgot them during the build.
I only had 4 black pins left and just 1 blue half pin.
