does 1 variant weigh more/less than it's cousin...?
your welcome...

It is known that polycarbonate parts weigh significantly more than their ABS
counterparts, but the catalog only has room for one weight. Then there are the
almost 600 parts that we are tracking that are not split and have variants. All
of those entries only have one weight. I could go on, but basically all parts
in the catalog are kept with the highest weight recorded for an instance of the
part by anyone who cares to submit a correction. It's not like this is a
new issue. This has been an issue since BrickLink was founded.

Indeed. There are obviously weight differences between common variants such as
1x4 bricks where the catalogue already doesn't recognize the difference enough
to give them their own entries, so nothing new.
