| | On the other hand, the most liberal approach is to remove all of the snowman
figures that are already in the catalog. However, some of the figures are in
an extremely popular theme and have unique printed parts. This leads to them
having high trade value and collectability, so trying to remove them from the
catalog is not likely.

I really wonder if they sell or are popular because of being the figure or because
of the unique parts they contain. Often if an otherwise crappy figure contains
a unique sought after part, it is just as expensive (or sometimes more) to buy
the part than the whole figure.
Plus in some themes, if bricklink makes it a figure then completionist collectors
have to have the figure. Demand can be there because it exists rather than because
it is necessarily wanted. Yet if it didn't exist as a minifigure in the catalogue,
the demand would not be there for it to exist.
