Indeed, that was implied in my statement above. Not only does the LEGO Group
only accept genuine LEGO®-brand parts for branding and marketing purposes, but
they may not want off-brand parts since they can't vouch for the quality
or compatibility with real LEGO. But, as you pointed out, even real LEGO has
some quality control issues.
