| I see many stores maintain multiple non-unique lots in inventory. While I believe
this is a poor practice I don’t believe people should be forced to change. Different
storage locations happen sometimes. I even miss some occasionally myself.
I suggest in the store statistics that Bricklink excludes non-unique lots from
the total number of lots.
The number of non-unique lots has is a useful store indicator while the number
of lots is not. Non-unique lots can help identify the stores with stock diversity.
In the “find stores” search function one quickly find more stock varied store,
one I want to look at more closely, and possibly place an order. Obviously not
my only purchase tool, just one starting point. However, I think we all have
seen the stores with 5 or 10 or 30 of the same item. Try again with the next
on the list. Overall, this suggestion improves the statistic we currently use.
Yes, I do also believe that the number of stores operating with multiple non-unique
lots is large enough for this change to result in noticeable differences.
