| I got bit by my first (as an adult) LEGO train bug last winter. Then I saw some
videos about the LEGO monorail and wanted that as well... but way too $$$
I made a couple of more reasonable offers here on BL, and even locally (for a
rare system there sure seem to be a lot of them around ) but all where rejected,
or in the local case where I changed my mind (or came to my senses?!? ).
Alas, their lost sales where actually my savings and gain!! as I then Googled
more and found some DIY stuff from a Japanese designer, Masao Hidaka.
I ordered a lot of much cheaper parts and made a simple oval elevated monorail
over train layout. Already planning on switch tracks and vertical spirals for
the monorail.
I even tossed in a mini 4 stud wide track in the middle, with an "engine"
using some older 9v parts... Trackception
And best of all, they are all cat approved

The LEGO monorail tracks are expensive to produce, better to roll your own custom
design from LEGO elements.
The MOC from Masaka Hidaka that you showed images of looks good!
Hope you have a lot of fun building and running them!
Cheers ...
