I was looking at the sets these come in, and at least the way it's advertised, it looks like part 80336 is the top half of the container. Part 80337 is even called "Octagonal, Bottom" but has a contradictory "Top" in parentheses. The only way I see it as a top is how some sets use it as a parasol/umbrella, but when talking about the container it seems like the bottom.
