  Hi everyone,

I would like to get some feedback on how people store their spare minifigure
heads?

I have a lot of spare heads I use to complete figures but there is no easy way
to store, see and access them. Currently it takes a lot of time to hunt for them
even after trying my best to group them.
just interested in seeing what people do so they can access and pick them quickly.

Thank you!

Minifigure heads are probably one of the main types of item I sell and I generally
store them by theme and the character they relate to therefore all my Star Wars
heads will be grouped together in cabinets with the name of each character labelled
on each of the draws (labelled grip seal bags within boxes work just as well).
Obviously you may have several different head versions for the same character
but I rarely find it too much trouble to pick the correct one between them but
if I did I would label them slightly different such as Han 1, Han 2, Han 3 etc…

On the same token if the head is used on multiple different characters then I
will choose to label both my stock and Bricklink inventory by whichever name
I feel most appropriate so if we go right in there with a tricky head like this
that is used on lots of different characters:-
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=3626cpb2108&in=M

You may choose to label the Head ‘Cedric’ and store with your Harry Potter heads
because it’s been used on that character more than any other or you may choose
to label it ‘Han Solo’ and store with your Star Wars heads because you are more
likely to use these heads for building this character? Or maybe you will label
it ‘Ikaris’ simply because this seems like a more unique name to give the head?
Either which way it doesn’t matter as long as your physical stock and bricklink
inventory are labelled with the same name you should be able to locate your heads
efficiently

Generally speaking I find it much easier locating heads by reading off and looking
for a character name compared with number references and it doesn’t matter what
minifigure you may intend to build you can just look up what you’ve labelled
the head as and say to yourself “Ah right to build some Ikaris minfiigures I
will need some Cedric heads” and you will therefore know to locate them among
your Harry Potter heads for example

Just to be clear use the ‘My Remarks’ field to label your inventory on Bricklink
either using a numbering or naming system. As already mentioned when it comes
to heads I label by character names but for other parts like hair I label and
store by Design I.D
