Your sons have outgrown the lego scene...for now.
But, in 20 years, when they have children of their own, they will visit you and
ask for their old lego so that they can start their kids off right.

100% agree, worst thing my mother did was sell my childhood toys.

As another parent, I feel differently about it ~
Better to sell so other children can enjoy what her kids had. Maybe invest the
funds gained back into her boys, i.e. collage, clothes, housing, car insurance,
date nights, etc. Things they are interested in now.
