Even if the status of the North of the island might be problematic (though the state is only recognised by one country (Turkey)), there’re absolutely no controversies on the fact the Republic of Cyprus is in EU. Though, I’m not sure a forum post (with “politics” in the title) will help. Did you file a bug report / contact Help Desk?
