| Welcome to our new online Lego store hosted by 'BrickLink'. An Excellent site that I have used many times as a buyer. ETC Curious Curios has been trading for just over 6 years, specialising in mechanical & electronic constructional sets. In addition to Lego we sell a range of Meccano, Bayko, Fischer and Philips parts & sets.
Inspired by my childhood memories of the 1960s and the toys I had - or wished I had! Fortunately though Lego, Hornby, Dinky and Meccano did take up a sizeable part of my toy cupboard, spending more time on the floor than they did in it. Lego in particular gave me endless pleasure, but not much time for schoolwork! That was until it was time to look at a future career! So the toys were packed away [and sadly lost] and the adult world of University beckoned to prepare me for a career in social work - quite a long one at that, trying to construct or reconstruct people's lives hopefully for the better!
It's been a thrilling experience re-engaging with the toys and model sets of the past as well as learning of the new advances that many, particularly Lego, have made. You may be able to put the Raspberry Pi, or other such technology into Lego but you can't take out what is fundamentally so brilliant about Lego - those simple little studs that make so much innovation and joy possible.
Frank Hornby's passion for educating young people & adults in engineering 'You are never too old for Meccano' was a well-known advertising strapline and equally applicable to Lego - 'You are never too old for Lego'.
