| | I got my first Lego set in 1983 (#483, Alpha-1 Rocket Base) and have been a fan ever since. As a child my favorite theme was Classic Space (I think I have every set they released between 1984 and 1987, including bonus sets) but as a teenager and adult I have drifted towards Castle and Pirate themes.
I prefer freebuilding and so do my children, to whom I have passed all my childhood bricks as well as using them as an excuse to indulge my own Lego habit. They like the Star Wars, various castle, various pirate, and Harry Potter themes.
