| It would be great if it were an option to better separate business from personal
for
a little privacy, better tax management (only placing business orders on a business
account and personal on personal) and similar.

I think for the small number of people who use the same account for business
and personal, this could be better done on an individual basis. I feel we have
more pressing matters that impact far more users.
Sorry, had to vote no.

why no? just because due to implementation time/effort? or because the premise
is flawed?
and I'm relatively new to bricklink, what are the pressing matters at hand?
I'd like to educate myself.

Premise is valid. Paraphrasing from an excellent user "the BL code is less
than optimal. Every version of html 1 through 5 plus xhtml, all jumbled together
with css and often contradicting itself, replacing itself with itself, and lord
knows what else. It’s a small miracle that many of the pages even render."
e.g. I cannot even remove italics in my shipping methods, but I can change other
store settings to have a specific look and feel. So this stands out like a sore
thumb on my T&C page.

This depends on whom you ask. Ask sellers, they want seller tools, a fuller
API, analytics, and other reasonable eCommerce asks.
Ask BL, it is BDP, taxes, Popup MOC shop, anything but modernizing the site in
a way people like (Not the XP abomination.)
I am sure buyers have an ask too, but I am not in tune with those.

No, simply some developpers do a good job, and things work for a long time.
I've developped some apps that were used in companies for 10/20 years -
or more, I don't know now. I still use some 2000's VB6 apps which work
like a charm on Windows 10, yes Sir!
Decent code can work and continue to work for decades.
The problem is, later on, it's often easier to rewrite the whole than to
try to modify / update / upgrade it.
But that'd requires an heavy investment.
... which will be postponed for as long as the old code works.
Because this is how human's brain work: better get immediate satisfaction
on new and easy things and features than to more valuable ones but in a far too
long term.
Humans may have the solution of the problem they are. I hope.

+1!!!
Thanks for starting this thread, you know I'm 100% in agreement.
I think stores should be their own entity. You should have to have at least
one personal verified account tied to it to make sure a real person is behind
it (this would also let more than one account be "admins/access" of a
particular store and not have to share a single personal account password between
multiple people in case of partners or employees needing access to the store
account)
I think store addresses and feedback should be their own thing unrelated to any
and all personal accounts tied to it.
Brinklink, thanks for any consideration in this idea!

The terms allow you to do this, if you have a registered business.

Yes I agree and consider it to be almost essential. I did make a request to create
a second account for personal use some years ago but it was rejected which is
a little frustrating given there are no doubt many users creating second accounts
for illegitimate reasons and without even asking permission who I'm sure
still go under the radar!
However BL should do what ebay does where business accounts are forced to declare
themselves as such and have wording "Registered as a Business" displayed
alongside their account. This would then legitimize having a second account for
personal use!
Right now I have a lot of rare childhood Lego that is still sitting idle which
I'm unable to sell here simply because I would be unable to separate it from
business sales and end up unfairly taxed on it all. The other thing is that I
take pride in keeping to my business model of only selling new parts and minifigures
and feel that mixing used Lego would only undermine my overall stock and the
type of store I want to be, which is one that ONLY sells NEW (I want my customers
to have a clear understanding of this!)
